The TED organization birthed not only TED Talks and the TED Conference, but also created independently organized educational events known as TEDx, which are hosted in cities all over the world. Diane Hatz, of Change Food and founder/organizer of the food and farming-focused TEDxManhattan, identified the need for people to understand the food system on a broader scale and has been the master of ceremonies at her event from 2011 to its end in 2015.
