Jefferson County Cooperative Extension
The Jefferson County Cooperative Extension represents the state’s land grant universities University of Kentucky and Kentucky State University, with staff experts in the areas of agriculture, the environment, human health and well-being, and communities. Their programming includes gardening and horticulture classes, nutrition classes, and 4-H. At the FoodPort, Extension programming will be enhanced by a demo kitchen and a 2 acre farm site.
The Weekly Juicery – Kimmye Bohannon, Founder
The Weekly Juicery is a fast-growing company out of Lexington, KY. They are a processor and retailer of cold-pressed fruit & vegetable juices, and source some of their ingredients from regional farmers. Their location at the FoodPort will serve as their primary processing commissary, and enable them to create more opportunities for their retail sales, in addition to adding more jobs to their growing crew.

Piazza Produce is a family owned and operated company that distributes a wide variety of local and regional foods throughout Indiana, Illinois, Ohio, and Kentucky. They have made a concerted push to promote local ingredients and farmers as a core offering of their business here in the Kentuckiana region, and are excited to grow this side of their operations amongst collaborative partners at the FoodPort.
